Our Why

Our “why” is simple. We want to see less plastic waste in our landfills, oceans, and bodies. Plastic takes hundreds, sometimes thousands of years, to break down. Its pollutants are found in wild animals and in the animals we eat - these toxins cause immeasurable harm to our health and longevity. So we’re promoting a simple solution to this modern problem - we’re taking plastic out of the retail packaging equation.

Is bleach bad for the environment?

The short answer is yes. That said, most of the bad effects of bleach are neutralized when the chemicals are activated with water. But there are environmental concerns surrounding its’ manufacture and freshwater levels. We know our solution – compostable and eco-friendly packaging – is not perfect. But considering that the plastic packaging that most detergents come in will affect the environment for hundreds of years, we believe it’s a good start in taking some responsibility for the health of the planet and all who live on it.

What’s in a Tidy Leaf Bleach Tablet?

Just the basics – we formulated Tidy Leaf to be strong enough to be effective, but mild enough so as to pose as little a threat to the environment as possible. Each tablet has organic chlorinated bleaching agents (for cleaning power), sodium bicarbonate (so it fizzes and dissolves in water), chlorine stabilizers (used to extend the life of the chlorine), and inert fillers (to make the tablets solid and stiff).

What should I do if someone mistakenly swallows a tablet?
